Sathya Sai Young Adults from Ghana celebrated Avatar Declaration Day on 15th October 2016 by vaccinating domestic dogs against rabies, a contagious and fatal viral disease. Many animals, including dogs, can transmit this disease through saliva to humans, causing madness, convulsions, and even death. Since the Veterinary Service Department had declared Pokuase, a suburb in Accra, as prone to the spread of rabies, Sathya Sai Young Adults and veterinary officers vaccinated over 200 dogs in Pokuase. By inoculating the dogs against this deadly disease, the whole township of about 15,000 people, especially children, benefited by greatly reduced chances of contracting rabies.
